BALTIMORE, MD – The Lake Roland Nature Council announced that their third annual Native Plant Sale will on Saturday, April 30 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the Lakeside Drive entrance to Lake Roland.

All proceeds from the sale will go to Lake Roland Nature Council for improvements at the park and to the Guilford Garden Club scholarship fund.

Professional gardeners will be on hand to help participants learn about the importance of landscaping with plants native to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Native plants are easier to maintain, and specific selections influence the lives of butterflies, birds and other wildlife.

A variety of deer resistant plants will also be available for sale.

Participants are encouraged to bring photos or sketches of their gardens to get planting advice from professionals.

While at the sale, visitors are encouraged to check out construction progress on the Lake Roland Nature Center which will provide year-round education and meeting space near the Ranger Station.

The rain date for the sale is Sunday, May 1.
