BALTIMORE, MD – The Robert E Lee Park Nature Council announced that on Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a native plant sale will be held at the Lakeside Drive entrance to Lake Roland. All proceeds from the sale will go towards improvements at the park and the Guilford Garden Club scholarship fund. Professional gardeners will be on hand to help participants learn about the importance of landscaping with plants native to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Native plants are easier to maintain, and specific selections influence the lives of butterflies, birds and other wildlife. A variety of deer resistant plants will also be available for sale. Participants are encouraged to bring photos or sketches of their gardens to receive expert planting advice.

Experts Will Be on Hand to Provide Free Planting Advice.

All sales are by cash or check only.

While at the sale, participants are encouraged to check out the progress of Acorn Hill, the new children’s play area in the park.
